Rooted in tradition, made with a playful touch
Meet Cheryl
Sushi Piko was born from Cheryl’s long-standing passion for food, creativity, and meaningful experiences. Before real estate, she studied Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ryerson University, where she developed an appreciation for not just food, but also the experience behind it. Years later, that passion resurfaced. Turning what some might call a “mid-life crisis” into the decision to build something of her own. Inspired by the simplicity and creativity of Japanese cuisine, she began reimagining sushi in a way that feels both elevated and approachable. To bring this vision to life, Cheryl trained in Montreal under her mother-in-law, a seasoned restaurateur, where she refined her technique and was entrusted with signature house-made sauces that now form the foundation of Sushi Piko.
“I’ve always believed the best food is simple, thoughtful, and just a little unexpected.”
Sushi Piko brings a fresh take to Japanese cuisine, blending traditional techniques with creative, modern twists. Each item is thoughtfully crafted with quality ingredients, bold flavours, and attention to detail. Designed to feel both familiar and a little unexpected. It’s sushi that’s meant to be enjoyed, shared, and kept coming back to. What started as an idea has grown into something more personal. Shaped by experience, curiosity, and a genuine love for food.
